The Process
We can start with a 15-minute consultation where you can ask any questions you may have of me and what you can expect from counseling. I will ask you generally about your goals of counseling and what you might be wanting to address. If we both decide to establish a counseling relationship, I will get you scheduled with either in-person services or via Telehealth.
My Approach
There are many different approaches to counseling. I am primarily person-centered therapy from Carl Rogers. I believe you are who knows you best and you have what it takes to create the change you wish to see. I am merely a support for you during this process; someone who can help reflect, challenge, and provide tools.
I will sometimes pull from other theories such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. You are more than just a diagnosis so through my conversations with you, we can determine together what you want to focus on, and what kind of support you need to move forward.
